Media Control Unit (MCU) Screen - Model S and X

Is your Tesla Model S or X equipped with a bubbled, yellowed, or scratched large screen? To ensure you receive the correct screen, take a look at the back of your existing screen. Confirm whether you have orange cables (GEN 1) or black ribbon cables (GEN 2). While we understand the reluctance to open up your Tesla, it's the only way to accurately identify your screen's generation. Remember, there's no data linkage between your VIN or year and the MCU in the car.

If you do not want to open your MCU up twice, consider purchasing a GEN 2 PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) along with a GEN 2 screen. If you discover a GEN 1 screen upon opening the MCU, simply install the GEN 2 PCBA and GEN 2 MCU screen. In case you find a GEN 2 MCU screen, you can return the PCBA (minus a restocking fee).
