To identify your door handle, go into Service Mode, then Door Handles, and look at what Generation you have.
The prototype gear is made to replace the common failure for GEN 2.1, 2.5, and 3 handles, which is the gear for the motor. This gear is round internally to cover both the round motor shaft and the keyed motor shaft. Install Video: Prototype Gear Assembly
Generation 2.1 exterior door handles are retrofitted to replace Generation 2.0 door handles. Generation 3.0 exterior door handles are retrofitted to replace Generation 2.5 door handles.
