Barn Find 1991 Trans Am GTA Revival Part 4 Fuel Tank Out, Smog Pump Gone & New Sending Unit Arrives
The resurrection of the 1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA continues! In Part 4, I tackle several major projects as I work toward getting this barn find back on the road after years of sitting. This episode starts with replacing the corroded battery terminals to ensure solid electrical connections before diving into some much bigger jobs. I remove the factory smog pump, begin cleaning up the engine bay, and then take on one of the biggest challenges yetβdropping the fuel tank. With the tank out, I remove the old fuel pump and inspect the condition of everything inside. As expected with a vehicle that's been sitting for years, nothing is as simple as it should be. Unfortunately, progress hits a snag when I discover delays with the fuel sending unit, putting the next steps of the project on hold. Will the fuel system finally come together in the next episode? Follow along as I continue bringing this neglected third-generation F-Body back to life one repair at a time. π Vehicle: 1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA 5.7L Tuned Port Injection (TPI) V8 Barn Find Restoration Project π§ Work Completed in This Episode: β Replaced battery terminals β Removed factory smog pump β Dropped fuel tank β Removed old fuel pump β Inspected fuel system components β Diagnosed fuel sending unit issues β Continued barn find assessment πΊ Watch Previous Episodes: Part 1 β First Look at the Barn Find Part 2 β What Will Work?
